Activities

Summer Holiday Activity Fun Day

A day of riding, games, hands-on pony care and handling for children aged 6 to 12 years, suitable for anyone with little to no riding experience.

Numbers are limited to 16 and bookings are on a first come, first served basis with payment. We ask that each child brings a packed lunch.

Summer Holiday Own a Pony Experience

The Own a Pony Experience day is designed for riders with enough experience to trot unaided in rhythm and balance.

Riders will gain an understanding of all aspects of looking after a pony and will also receive a riding lesson.

Places are limited to 10 riders.

Time: 9:30am to 3:30pm

Children’s Fun Days

The day includes a riding lesson, practical hands on pony care and handling, along with some games in a fun environment, aimed at children 6-12 years.

Every rider will leave with a rosette.

The café is open at lunchtime or alternatively riders can bring their own packed lunch.

Sessions tend to run on Wednesdays through the summer holidays and half term.

Own a Pony Day

These days are aimed at more experienced riders, and generally those aged 12 years and over.

Each rider will be allocated a pony for the day which they look after and be able to ride.

Tasks could include catching the pony, letting him out at the end of the day, grooming, picking out his feet, cleaning the tack and putting it on. There may be the opportunity to learn how to apply a bandage and put rugs on.

Riders will need to be assessed by us to ensure they are confident and competent enough to be safe and gain the most from the day.

The sessions tend to held on Tuesdays or Thursdays throughout the school holidays.

Outdoor Riding, Road Safety & Woodland Hack

During the first half of the day, riders will receive instruction on riding outside and road safety. The second half will then involve an escorted ride in the woods along with games and activities.

Minimum requirement: Riders need the ability to control their horse off the lead whilst walking and trotting.

Numbers are limited to 12.

Escorted Countryside Rides

These rides are for approved and assessed riders only, with a maximum of 4 riders per group.

Summer Camp

A non-residential 2-day summer camp for adults and teenagers (15yrs and above) who are confident riders in trot and/or canter.

The camp will involve a mixture of horse management skills and lessons on the flat, with optional jumping tuition.

A detailed programme for each day will be produced once we have an idea of numbers and standard.

Places are limited.

Jumping Day

Riders will be introduced to show jumping and will have the opportunity to improve their jumping skills.

Minimum requirement: Participants must be able to walk, trot and canter unaided and have some jumping experience.

The itinerary will be produced once we know the standard of all riders.
